Katie Lipka 

Katie was born in the deep south and raised in Berkeley, CA.
Starting 2 decades ago at parent participation pre-school cooperatives El Cerrito Preschool Cooperative and Carlmont Parents Nursery School, where she served in marketing and as Treasurer, Katie has served in numerous capacities on parent organizations in schools. From Parliamentarian to Teacher Appreciation to Secretary for both public (Laurel Elementary School, Bayside STEM Academy) and private schools (Alto International, The Nueva School) on the mid-Peninsula, Katie has always been actively involved in supporting education in her family’s community. Katie teaches music professionally through the Masterworks Chorale Outreach program and as a volunteer through Music for Minors, serving children in places like North Shoreview Elementary and Boys & Girls Clubs. Her focus is creating inclusive, positive environments that benefit all stakeholders through identifying and achieving common goals. Katie has a BA, Drama from UC Irvine, which she has used in jobs like waiting tables, and co-founding a Web development company in Silicon Alley. She is thrilled to be able to support Small Learning Communities at Hillsdale High School through the HHS Foundation.
