I am a native of South Carolina. I received my undergraduate degree from North Carolina A & T State University, Greensboro, NC. My husband and I moved to California in 1966 and have been residents of Foster City for approximately forty-five years. We have two sons and three grandchildren. I am a retired educator—teacher, counselor and administrator. My teaching career began in the New York City Schools in 1963 at Jr. High School 120 in the Bronx. Prior to moving to California in 1966, I applied for and received a teaching position in the SFUSD where I worked in various schools and programs for thirty-four years as a teacher, counselor and administrator-the longest of which was spent at the high school level. My graduate work began at The City University of New York. I received my MA degree and teaching/counseling credentials from San Francisco State University and Cal State East Bay, Hayward. My teaching experience includes part-time instructor at the University of San Francisco.
